Pixie Jenkins
Stand Up Comedy and Almighty Fiddling
Pixie Jenkins (b.Launceston, Tasmania, 21 March 1957) was 16yo when he played the melody to 'What a friend we have in Jesus' behind one of Rick and Thel Carey's famous old Australian gospel hillbilly monologues. Since then he has recorded fiddle for, supported live and toured with some of the biggest names in the Australian Music Industry, plus OS entertainment: from Bob Dylan, Cher, Charlie Daniels to Jimmy Barnes, Chad Morgan to John Williamson.
During the 90's he created the legendary Pixieland Country Theatre shows and then his brave and original performances have been part of the entertainment landscape for nearly 40 years. Telling his unique story, while singing songs, fiddlin’ tunes and endearing himself to audiences of all ages right across Australia. It’s these solo performances that have made him one of the most sort after iconic Australian Artists in major festival, clubs and pubs plus across Australia.
This is Pixies’ 2nd time at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival so if you missed him last time don’t make the same mistake this year!
