Rohan Powell

Rohan Powell’s musical career is nothing if not diverse.

As a musician and vocalist, Rohan has worked with many of this country’s best-loved singers and performers, from Glen Shorrock and Brian Cadd, to most recently, John Schumann

( Redgum ) and Shane Howard ( Goanna ).

With the members of Acoustic Juice, he has performed across the length and breadth of Australia and beyond, playing at corporate functions, country fairs, pubs, clubs and everything in between.

Whether at the Sydney Entertainment Centre for a black tie Gala Charity Ball; The Clipsal 500 in front of 40 000 people who’ve had a bit too much sun (and a bit too much libation!) or in the middle of the Flinders Ranges raising much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the boys in Acoustic Juice, just love to play music for their audience.

Rohan has also performed many lead roles in Music Theatre productions such as Professor Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, and Fagan in Oliver Twist. He’s even sung with The State Opera of South Australia in Wagner’s Ring Cycle!

But Rohan’s first love is writing and performing country music.

This has lead to him recording in the USA with his good mate and musical ‘compadre’ Ian ‘Polly’ Politis (also a member of Acoustic Juice), and to having his own compositions recorded by other artists as far afield as Norway, where his song The Loving Is The Easy Part has even been translated into Swedish.

Who knows, he might even play that version for you!!

Rohan and the boys in Acoustic Juice are absolutely delighted to be invited back to Boyup Brook in 2019.

“It’s a wonderful festival to be part of, with so many great artists to see and hear over the whole weekend, and so many friends to catch up with. See you in February 2019!“
