Walk the
Line.
Rohan Powell and the Walking the Line Band present...
The music of Johnny Cash spanned almost 50 years from the start of his career in 1955 with the legendary Sun Records, right up to his death on the September 12, 2003.
He continued recording and performing not only his own songs, but songs written by other artists, in each case bringing his own unique style and perspective to the presentation. He did not confine his style to county music, showing a great affinity for the Rock ‘n’ Roll genre in which he made his widest impact on a worldwide audience.
This show covers those 50 years of Johnny Cash classic songs, illuminated with anecdotes of his life and adventures, and includes such hits as 'Ring of Fire', 'Folsom Prison Blues', 'I Walk the Line', 'Ghost Riders in the Sky', 'Sunday Coming Down', 'A Boy Named Sue' and so many more.
Featuring the rich baritone voice of Rohan Powell, which just oozes Johnny Cash, ‘just close your eyes and you’d swear it was the man in black himself’ John Pemberton–radio personality and music historian...
Together with the Walking the Line Band, these musicians have taken this show around Australia to festivals and concert halls, playing on the Inaugural Country Cruisin’ Cruise Ship extravaganza, performing in front of 40,000 people at Clipsal 500, opening for Kenny Rogers and faithfully recorded many of the songs they perform in the show itself.
The Walking the Line Band, together with Rohan Powell will deliver a spell-binding romp through some of country music’s greatest songs by one of its greatest stars.... Johnny Cash!
