$10,000 in prizes for best trucks and utes at annual muster

Start revving those engines − it’s almost time for the annual Boyup Brook Ute and Truck Muster where $10,000 worth of prizes will be up for grabs.

Owners of utes, trucks, tractors and vintage cars with grunt, character and style are being encouraged to get their vehicles ready in anticipation of this year’s parade and competition being held on Saturday February 16.

Entry is open in a long-list of categories, ranging from fun to serious including feral ute, 4x4 off road wagon, chick ute, vintage pre-60 truck, and best farm truck.

Taking place during the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival presented by LiveLighter, the event will see participants parade along the main street at 11am as thousands watch and cheer.

The parade will end at the hockey oval, next to the Music Park, where there will be entertainment from Cowboy Roger Lawson, Nathan “Whippy” Griggs, Kate Linke and Blue Hornet. Games and judging will also take place.

Then it will be time to head to the main stage for an evening of entertainment from the likes of Beccy Cole, Bennett, Bowtell and Urquhart, The Buckleys, The Long Run – The Songs of the Eagles, Patrick McMahon and Acoustic Juice, and Delilah Rose and the Gunslingers.

Entry in the Boyup Brook Ute and Truck Muster includes participation in the parade and competition, camping on the Saturday night of the festival, and a Saturday Festival Ticket to see the huge line-up at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival presented by LiveLighter.

Travellin’ Still: The Songs Of Slim Dusty With Pete Denahy and the Travelling Country Band, Connie Kis Andersen, Darren Coggan, Amber Joy Poulton, and Band of Mates are just some of those performing over the weekend.

The festival takes places between February 15 and 17, with activities also taking place over February 13 and 14 including the bush poetry breakfast and art exhibition opening.
