Do you know of a country music artist deserving of recognition? If so, it’s time to put their name forward for the 2020 West Australian Country Music Awards.
For the first time organisers are asking the general public to nominate who they think should be considered for an award.
The change in format gives the fans the chance to play a role in who takes home the states biggest country music accolades.
Nominations in a variety of awards categories are encouraged, including for group, male artist, female artist, songwriter, emerging artist and junior vocalist of the year.
There are also awards to be won for the best independent single, EP and album as well as the best video clip.
Nominations close Friday 16th August 2019, allowing time for a judging process to take place that will see three finalists in each category announced in the lead-up to the awards presentation next year.
The awards will take place at the biggest country music event in WA – the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, which will be held from February 13-16, 2020.
Award winners will receive prizes and a chance to perform at the 35th annual Boyup Brook Country Music Festival.
A celebration of everything country, the popular music and camping festival incorporates live performances, a street carnival with buskers and street performers, a ute and truck muster, variety show and bush poets breakfast.
