Busselton resident Chad Woods is among the long list of talents including Beccy Cole, Connie Kis Andsersen and The Buckleys who will entertain at this year’s Boyup Brook Country Music Festival presented by LiveLighter.
The singer-songwriter, who has been around the country music scene for more than 20 years after being born into a country music family, will perform songs from his recently-released debut album Life Goes On.
Recorded last year, the album features 13 songs which Woods poured his “heart and soul” into.
“Music is my life, it’s what I was born to do and it has always got me through from my lowest points and brings me joy at my highest,” Woods said.
“Life does get tough but there is a song for every occasion.
“My album, Life Goes On, sums that up perfectly.”
Woods said he was looking forward to returning to Western Australia’s biggest country music festival, which he described as a “fantastic weekend full of music, fun and friendship”.
“I’m honoured to be a part of the festival again, looking forward to entertaining my old friends and making new ones,” Woods said.
“The festival is very close to my heart, it’s where it all began for me and I have made lifelong friendships over the years.”
Woods will perform during the morning show at Harvey Dickson’s Country Music Centre on Friday February 15.
The 34th annual festival takes place between February 15 and 17 with activities also taking place over February 13 and 14 including the bush poets breakfast and art exhibition opening. Tickets are now on sale through the official event website − www.countrymusicwa.com.au .
