The Western Suntones operate out of Perth, Western Australia and their sound is reminiscent of classic country rock outfits Creedence, Poco and The Eagles. They draw their influences from country, blues and roots music creating a modern Country/Americana sound. The band is promoting their latest album Long Way Home produced by James Gillard. In 2020, they are performing at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival and the Outback Country Music Show.
The Western Suntones creative core of Steve Smith, Jeff Barham and Chris Harwood, have been playing together for 10 years but have been in the industry since the 1970s. The band has toured to the Tamworth Country Music Festival and gigs regularly in Perth.Brendon T Moylan, host of ‘Born in Boots’ FM country radio show, described the band as ‘Perth’s best secret. ’Rick Steele, Perth music legend, whilst introducing the band said, “Where have you guys been hiding?” So, don’t you miss The Western Suntones!
